Brominated Flame Retardants in Antarctic Air in the Vicinity of Two All-Year Research Stations

چکیده
Continuous atmospheric sampling was conducted between 2010–2015 at Casey station in Wilkes Land, Antarctica, and throughout 2013 Troll Station Dronning Maud Antarctica. Sample extracts were analyzed for polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), the naturally converted brominated compound, 2,4,6-Tribromoanisole, to explore regional profiles. This represents first report of seasonal resolution PBDEs Antarctic atmosphere, we describe conspicuous differences ambient concentrations compounds observed two stations. Notably, levels BDE-47 detected higher than those previously or Southern Ocean region, with a maximum concentration 7800 fg/m3. Elevated penta-formulation PBDE congeners coincided local building activities subsided months following completion activities. The latter provides important information managers National Programs preventing release persistent, bioaccumulative, toxic substances

Comparison of Brominated Flame Retardants in Indoor Air and Dust Samples from Two Homes in Japan
In this study, polyhalogenated compounds such as BFRs were analyzed in indoor air and dust samples from two homes in Japan. Concentrations of PCBs and TBPs in exhaust and indoor air of two houses were detected at 10 – 10 pg/m orders and were well above those in outdoor air. For dust samples, the detected PBDE and PBDD/F concentrations were in the range of our past study. Interestingly, compared...

متن کاملLevels and trends of brominated flame retardants in the Arctic.
Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) containing two to seven bromines are ubiquitous in Arctic biotic and abiotic samples (from zooplankton to polar bears (Ursus maritimus) and humans; air, soil, sediments). The fully brominated decabromodiphenyl ether (BDE-209), hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD), tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) and polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) are also present in biotic and abi...
